Evolution of multi pores in Ti6Al4V/AlSi10Mg alloy during laser post-processing

During metal additive manufacturing, porosity is one of the main quality defects products. Laser post-processing an effective method reducing surface and sub-surface. Herein, evolution mechanism multi pores during this process studied. Two samples for each alloy, Ti6Al4V AlSi10Mg, were fabricated by laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), upper sample alloy was scanned using a beam comparison. Then, inner layer morphology distribution these four measured micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) technology. It found that reduced from 0.7961% to 0.6034% 3.7105% 3.6287% AlSi10Mg after phenomenon combination obvious alloy. Next, mechanisms alloys, including heat transfer, Marangoni flow, mass transfer related recoil pressure other phenomena, numerically simulated, tracked level-set method. Moreover, effects preheating temperature on reduction discussed.
